Your Time

Volunteers help by preparing and serving the Sunday and Tuesday meals which follow the 2:00 P.M. services. The friendship and warmth of our volunteers enhance the caring atmosphere we strive to offer.

Drivers are sometimes needed to bring one or more of our members to an appointment or to a group activity in the area.

When someone is moving to housing help is needed to gather donated furnishings.

Tutors, Sunday School teachers, and mentors are needed to share in our youth ministry.

Financial Support

Good Shepherd relies on donations from individuals and groups to provide the financial support needed to carry on the ministries of ending homelessness and enriching the life experiences of our youth. There is no paid staff so all donations are used to fund the goods and services provided. As a 501(c)3 not-for-profit charitable organization all contributions made are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Clothing, Food, Materials

Good Shepherd tries to meet emergency clothing needs primarily: men’s jeans and shorts, dark color “khaki” pants and shorts, underwear, socks, shirts, especially T-shirts in extra large sizes, and shoes/sneakers in larger sizes (11 – 13). Jackets are needed from November to February.

Our small food bank is always in need of high-protein canned goods and other non-perishable food.

Personal hygiene products are gratefully accepted – especially soaps, toothpaste, lotion and deodorant.

Sheets and spreads (twin, full, queen), towels, backpacks and kitchenware are often requested by our people.

Basic goods which cannot be paid for with food stamps are always needed: toilet paper, paper towels, feminine products, laundry and dish detergents.

Our youth ministry needs children’s books, art supplies and even toys for birthday gifts.

When someone is moving to housing we try to provide basic furniture: bed, dresser, sofa, end table, lamp, dining table and chair(s). If you have any of these and are wishing to make a donation to a charity, please call to find out if Good Shepherd is currently in need. This would also apply to bicycles. Please call to find out if there is currently someone in need. .
